Fall Home Projects: Outdoor Living, Bathroom Remodels & Safety Updates for Your Family

Getting Your Home Ready for Fall: Gathering Spaces, Safety, and Smart Updates

August always sneaks up on us. One week it’s pool days and popsicles; the next, our afternoons are full of after-school practices, carpool lines, and homework at the kitchen table again. Something is fitting about a new school year starting alongside a new season for your home — just as our kids grow into new routines, our homes often need room to grow with our families too. We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us to help their homes keep up.

As the season shifts, here’s what we’ve been thinking about and working on around outdoor living, bathroom remodels, home safety, and windows.

Making Room for Fall Gatherings

As back-to-school routines settle in and football season gets underway, fall brings plenty of reasons to gather at home. An existing porch or outdoor area can be transformed into a comfortable extension of your living space that your family can enjoy throughout the year.

From screening in a porch or outdoor kitchen area to keep the bugs out, to fully enclosing a space with glass and bifold doors, there are plenty of ways to make outdoor living work for your family. These spaces can become an after-school study spot, a quiet place to enjoy your morning coffee, or the perfect gathering area for football Saturdays and entertaining friends and family.

Bathroom Remodel: Before and After

We love remodeling clients’ homes to create the spaces their dreams are made of. A bathroom can be a wonderful retreat while also being designed to last. If a bathtub becomes difficult to access, or you simply need to open up the space, we can help with that.

Speaking of making the most of your space, here’s a recent before-and-after that shows what’s possible. We removed an old tub and created a beautiful modern walk-in shower and updated vanity, making this smaller guest bathroom feel more open and spacious.

Aging in Place: Safe & Sound

While you’re thinking through what your home needs this season, it’s also a good time to check on safety. Well-lit entries and stairways, motion-sensor lights, sturdy handrails, and lever-style door handles are small updates that can make your home safer and easier for everyone in the family to navigate.

Corbett's Monthly Tip: Replacement Windows

Corbett recommends taking a look at your windows as we head toward a new season. Replacing older windows is a great way to update the look of your home while also improving comfort and efficiency. The right windows can help keep your home cooler during our Texas summers and warmer when temperatures drop, making your home more comfortable year-round.

Mission in Motion: Peru 2026

Home projects aren’t the only thing that kept us busy this year — our team also traveled to Peru for our annual mission trip. Our team of 11 served in Chincha, Peru, while hosting medical, dental, and optical clinics. This year, we added a new station: hair care. We had a stylist join us, and Emma helped people leave feeling beautiful and seen! Each person who sat in my chair at the clinic left feeling blessed and prayed up! We also had a drama team that presented the gospel and encouraged those watching with the love of Jesus!

Please pray for our dear friend David Guzman and his family. One of his daughters is facing a battle with cancer. We are standing with David and his family, believing in a miracle and a cure for Debbie.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cabinet refacing is the process of cabinet resurfacing. This involves removing the existing cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and hardware. The cabinet boxes are then sanded and a new finish is applied. New doors and drawer fronts are then installed, and new hardware is added.

The installation process for a bath from Corbel Enterprises LLC typically looks like this:

First, one of our qualified professionals will come to your home to take measurements and assess your needs. They will then provide you with a free, no-obligation estimate.

If you decide to move forward with us, we will work with you to schedule a time for installation that is convenient for you. On the day of installation, our team will arrive on time and ready to work.

They will begin by prepping the area for installation. This may involve removing your old bathtub or shower, if you have one. Next, they will install your new bathtub or shower, making sure everything is properly sealed and secure.

Once the installation is complete, they will clean up the work area and dispose of any debris. They will then go over the warranty information with you and answer any questions you may have.

We strive to make the process as quick and easy for you as possible!

A shower base is a pan that serves as the bottom of a shower. It is typically made of fiberglass, acrylic, or stone and helps to contain water within the shower. A shower base is an important part of a shower as it helps to prevent water from leaking out and damaging the floor.

Our walk-in bathtubs come with a variety of features that are designed to make
your bathing experience as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Some of the features our tubs come with include:

-A low step-in height that makes it easy to get in and out of the tub
-A textured floor that prevents slipping
-A built-in seat that provides a comfortable place to sit while bathing
-A hand-held shower head that allows you to bathe without having to get up out of the tub
-Adjustable water and air jets that provide a relaxing massage

There are a few things to consider when trying to decide whether a tiled shower or an acrylic shower is right for you. First, think about your budget. Tiled showers can be more expensive to install than acrylic showers, so if cost is a factor, acrylic may be the better option. Second, think about maintenance. Acrylic showers are easier to clean and require less upkeep than tiled showers. Finally, think about your personal preferences. Do you prefer the look of tile, or the ease of acrylic? Ultimately, the decision comes down to what you value most in a shower.
